Asset-Based Community Development

How we develop communities.

  • Our museum provides access to a dynamic history that details cultural history, race relations, and key events and communities. A community that knows history knows its value.

  • Our programs are designed to provide education, exposure, and engagement opportunities for members of the community to enrich their lives. Additionally, we provide legal clinics to alleviate the stress and burdens of navigating the legal system.

  • We expose professionals and community leaders to best practices and principles of community development, leadership, and operations. Then guide them through an exploration process that unearths a depth of themselves, their purpose, and their organization they have never been exposed to.

  • We collect, analyze, interpret, and report data to inform and guide our programs and the programs of other organizations engaged in social justice advocacy. Among other things, we take a root cause approach to social justice advocacy by analyzing the impacts of history on constructing the social determinants of health.
