Hair & Fashion institute

The Fashion Institute at the Center for Black Culture & Excellence is designed to teach, train, and elevate hair and fashion in the Black community. Like the arts and cuisine, the distinct culture of the Black community is readily identifiable, robust, bold, and beautiful. To understand a culture's fashion is to understand one of that culture's most prominent forms of expression. We seek a community a community free to express itself as nature calls it, Black fashion is one of nature's expressions.

We aspire to educate, train, and empower all members of the community to engage in hygiene and expression that is authentic and personal. Further, we aspire to train hair and fashion professionals to compete at all levels in both mainstream and Black markets.
